Fashion and Feminism
The future is feminine. Feminine values are to be applauded and taught to all, while women have to learn to use their increasing powers wisely, without sacrificing the pleasures of femininity.Fashion must become the paramount concern in the coming age of enlightenment. For dress both reflects and moulds the values of the wearer, and clothes quite literally "make the man". We term this philosophy FASHIONISM. We shall discuss and depict enlightened fashions suitable for modern times. Ranging from the ages of elegance, where men dressed as elaborately as women to so called "fetish" wear, from the binding silk kimono to skin tight latex. The coming styles will, above all, be sensual, fostering enhanced body awareness and therefore healthier living. Silk and satin will reign supreme in modern styles for both sexes. Clothes will also be used to discipline the body, where necessary, to promote a healthier lifestyle based on diet and exercise. Use this forum to post images of stylish looks for women and for men. Share your ideas on future fashions, and how they will bring about the New Age. |

Thanks for posting that. My knowledge about feminine fashion broadens. |
Very nice suit. I guess I can wear that dress in my office of course minus the hat. Very nice I like the sequence of color and the dark color.

Fashion and Feminism
We are soliciting academic papers for an anthology on feminism and fashion.
Fashion is a powerful way we express our politics, personalities, and preferences for who and how we love. Yet fashion can also repress freedom and sexual expression. Fashion encourages profound creativity, rebellion, and defiant self-definition while simultaneously controlling and disciplining the body. Fashion signals resistance to sexual morés and it can also promote a problematic consumer culture. Fashion creates collective identity, but also constrains individual voice. In other words, fashion contains the paradoxical potential for pleasure and subjugation, expression and conformity. |
